The existing

A low, dark attic room on the top floor of a building on the island.

The transformation

Opening the roof to reach the sky. Two dormers are cut into the existing timber frame: the studio finds its height, its light and a view over the rooftops of Paris.

Everything else is drawn around them: a compact kitchen, a shower room behind a sliding bookcase, built-in storage.
